Fine dining at the coal mine

DSC_4557

A colleague and I traveled to Witbank or rather Emalahleni in Mpumalanga to visit our client at one of the prominent mines. I had no idea that mines had so many rules and that you could can kicked off if you were caught violating any of the rules. That was cool and scary at the same time.

Upon our departure, we saw a small canteen that had the longest line ever and with our tummies calling we decided to indulge in the fatty foods. The menu was quite detailed and you know if you eat there, you are not calorie counting at all.

As soon as I heard, bacon, egg and cheese, I was sold. So I ordered the the monster bacon, egg, cheese, tomato and onion, between 3 slices of brown bread… and toasted with a side of chips.

Do you see what I mean about the calorie counting?

The meal was as absolutely delicious as you are imagining it in your head right now. I’m grateful too that they are not shy with their bacon.

I saw a lot of mine workers with large bellies and I am just happy I do not work there because I would have one too.

So, I recommend totally finding the tiny canteen if you’re ever on a coal mine and looking for the greasiest food to indulge in because you only get such moments, once in a while.
