My journey of exploring amazing food started when I started living alone and learned how to develop flavours on a limited budget. Since then I have opened my mind and experienced some of the best food this planet has to offer. My brother has since introduced me to some of the tastiest red meat ever and while writing The great SA debate part 1, I stumbled upon wagyu beef aka kobe beef.
Until now, I thought the fillet cut was the most expensive cut of beef until I learned that there’s a breed of animals that produce wagyu. The meat is a little difference in appearance. You can see the tiny pockets of fat evenly distributed all over the steak:

It’s hard for a meat eater not to salivate at the prospect of eating that because we all know that fat does develop flavour and this steak has it evenly spread.
So it leads me to my title statement: Where do I find it? At this point, I am not cost conscious! I just need to get my hands on it. I am in the international meat capital of the world (I proclaimed it recently) South Africa but I have been to 3 exclusive butcheries that do not have it.
I just need to get my hands on it and have no idea where to start… Any ideas?
