I find myself always posting food images and saying “Doesn’t look that good but it tastes awesome”. After watching an episode of My Kitchen Rules Season 2 South Africa, I became particularly interested in food plating trends. The contestants, in a sudden cook-off, were asked to prepare desserts that highlighted a certain food. There was a huge emphasis on plating which made me think about how I plate food. Until now, I have always thought of taste rather than plating, however, we do eat with our eyes meaning that my food is always judged based on look then taste.
In true, LasyVera style, I consulted Chef Google and looked for the latest plating trends that I so wish that I could adopt into my everyday cooking. After searching through the top blogs, I found this one from theartofplating.com (awesome and suited name) had the most appealing and in my humble opinion, the most relevant article. In this article, you will see the most interesting trends that I have not even dared to think of this year.
