Valentines platters

If I tell you I don’t have the energy to write then you know that I must be exhausted. Today is one of those days. I was ‘discovered’ by, now a friend, who lives and works near me. She initially ordered sauce from me and landed up ordering a Mexican platter for her staff and office-warming. Last week I received a voice note from her ordering valentines day platter for a retirement village. Knowing that I made super spicy platters the last time, all she said was its for an older audience so let’s not got spicy again.

I had so much funaking this that I even roped in my mom to assist with sweet platters as she loves making desserts. From about 5pm yesterday until 10am the next day (today) we’ve been cooking, cutting, stirring, baking, chopping, slicing, frying, and a little bit of crying which culminated in this perfection that you’re about to see. For the savoury platter, we have 2 quiches, ham and herbs and mushroom and spring onion. We also have tomato tarts, egg cups and chicken mayo sandwiches. For the sweet platter we have: waffle iron churros, shortbread cookies, raspberry cream ‘sandwiches’, and coconut macaroons.

Please let me know your thoughts.
