I tried a new combination yesterday. I was inspired by my cravings. My tummy and thirst yearned for two things that I couldn’t go to Hooters for: beer and chicken wings. Off to my kitchen and cabinet I trotted and took out the beers and put them in the freezer to fast chill and took out the chicken wings to start cooking.
For the wings
I seasoned them with salt and pepper, coated them with flour and flash fried them in shallow oil. After I drained the oil, they took a bath in Super Sauced’s Hot Shot. One half of the pairing was done.
The beer
Just after my birthday in June, my brother introduced me to FourtyFour beer. It was so confusing that my brother only gave me one beer because it was so delicious. I’ll expand on that later. So I got my own stash and stored it for a rainy day.
Well the rainy day arrived yesterday. Here’s a little more on the beer itself.
Fourty four is proudly brewed, packaged and distributed in the East Rand by @townshipbrew. It is brewed by the first black female brewmaster in South Africa. It’s a light, crisp, mellow and smooth beer with a distinct taste. The hops are imported from Mexico so you know the taste is like nothing you’ve had before.
What I thought of the beer
This is the first beer that doesn’t make you burp like crazy and bloat your tummy. It’s so light and easy drinking that even if you’re not a beer fan, you’ll like it. It’s classic design on the outside only gives you hint of what you’ll experience on the inside. Without trying to be all cryptic, it’s absolutely delicious.
Together with the Super Sauced wings, I was left with the biggest smile on my face.

I think i can finally call myself a beer drinker now.
